Poor People Need More Privileges

My name is Emmery Wells and I am writing an article about poor people. Well, not a rude article about them, but a nice article about them. I think that they need more privileges and they need to be treated fairly, just like you and me. For example, one time I went to Walgreens with my grandmother and there was a homeless person sitting outside. She got very upset and didn’t think he should be there, but I didn’t think he was doing anything wrong. He was just sitting on a bench minding his own business. He probably had nowhere else to go. Poor people are just as good as you and me. I feel like a lot of people don’t treat underprivileged people right. We shouldn’t be kicking them out of places, because they have nowhere else to go. They are normal people. Some people see poor or homeless people on the street and don’t treat them right or they don’t appreciate them. They need to treat poor people right! If you want to help them you could help find them a job or give them some money to show them that you care.

Emmery Wells is a guest writer of the Student Voice. She is nine years old and in 4th grade. She loves art, painting, pickles, and kitties, and she loves writing for the newspaper. She is very exciting about being a guest writer, and is looking forward to sending in more work.
